Retail Assistant Manager

Job Summary:

You will be responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, achieving sales targets, and driving business performance in your designated store area. You will lead the team through effective communication, training, and collaboration while maintaining a focus on both employee development and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team by providing clear guidance, training, and feedback on store operations, business initiatives, and customer service.
• Conduct store tours to assess operations and provide actionable feedback.
• Drive financial performance by reviewing P&L statements, forecasting, managing budgets, and controlling expenses.
• Ensure effective merchandise presentation and seasonal transitions, managing inventory flow and minimizing shrinkage.
• Implement business solutions and lead change efforts to improve operational efficiency.
• Provide excellent customer service by leading community outreach programs and resolving customer complaints.
• Oversee hiring, training, and development of associates to meet staffing needs and drive business growth.
• Enforce company policies and values, ensuring compliance and ethical behavior across the team.
• Promote continuous learning and adaptability to meet changing customer and business needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of college education OR 1 year of retail experience with 1 year of supervisory experience OR 2 years of general work experience with 1 year of supervisory experience.
• For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training may be required.
• Willingness to attend job-required training and assessments (Academy, Open Door, etc.).
• Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Leadership or a related field; experience supervising 5 or more direct reports with performance management responsibilities.

Salary:

The hourly wage for this position ranges from $31.25 to $38.46 per hour, plus potential differentials depending on location. Additional compensation may include quarterly performance bonuses, regional pay zone adjustments, or sales volume-related incentives.
