The duties of this role include maintaining and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in various settings like homes, offices, and factories. Job Duties and Responsibilities of HVAC Maintenance Technician:
- Implement, assess, manage, and rectify HVAC units to ensure their efficiency.
- Employ diagnostic aids to pinpoint and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults with precision.
- Undertake system testing, adjustment, and calibration processes to maximize efficiency and functionality.
- Document installations, repairs, materials used, and duration of labor accurately.
- Partner with veteran specialists on complex endeavors and support the development of junior team members as needed.
- Observe the guidelines provided by the EPA, adhere to safety measures, and comply with the policies of the company.
- Follow through with extra assignments as given by management.
Qualifications and Experience of HVAC Maintenance Technician:
- A high school diploma or GED is a requirement, along with a preference for formal HVAC/R education.
- Candidates should have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in HVAC/R, with those who have 5 or more years of experience being strongly preferred.
- A universal EPA certification is a must-have, and those with a state journeyman license are prioritized.
- Proficient in the utilization of HVAC diagnostic instruments, electrical and refrigeration units, and technical schematics.
- Competency in multitasking efficiently, communicating proficiently, and resolving issues effectively.
- Demonstrating a clean driving history and readiness to travel as much as 50% of the time.
