Job Summary of Oil Transport Driver:
Adhere to company regulations, Department of Transportation laws, and safety protocols throughout the process of shipping refined goods from bulk storage facilities to various points of sale, ensuring accurate completion of essential paperwork.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Oil Transport Driver:
- Ensure the safe transfer of fuel at external customer-operated terminals.
- Fulfill fuel delivery obligations to company store locations as outlined in assigned delivery routes.
- Ascertain that the dispatched item is consistent with the assigned store location.
- Follow the company’s and Department of Transportation’s policies on the proper handling of hazardous materials during loading and unloading operations.
- Safeguard against accidents by following federal and state driving laws to maintain roadway safety.
- Document service hours daily as required by DOT guidelines.
- Monitor and expeditiously communicate any mechanical or equipment issues.
- Uphold cleanliness and professionalism by keeping your appearance and vehicle’s interior/exterior tidy.
- Handle any extra responsibilities given by management.
Qualifications and Experience of Oil Transport Driver:
- - A high school diploma or its equal substitute is a prerequisite.
- Applicants must possess at least three years of general tractor-trailer driving experience.
- Requisite: Three years worth of experience handling petroleum deliveries while driving.
- Verified qualifications include a Class A CDL license with endorsements for Hazmat and Tank, as well as a TWIC card.
- Ensuring a clean driving history and fulfilling the standards of the DOT Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
- Ensuring the capacity to pass and sustain fulfillment of the DOT physical exam criteria.
