Bakery Service and Production Associate
Job Summary of Bakery Service and Production Associate:
The associate is responsible for ensuring the bakery department is well-stocked and appealing to meet customer demands. This includes baking, decorating cakes, greeting and assisting customers, managing inventory, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards within the department. A positive attitude and teamwork are key in this role to support the department's success.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Bakery Service and Production Associate:
- Ensure the bakery department is well-stocked and appealing to meet customer demand, providing excellent customer service at all times.
- Mix, shape, proof, and bake breads, rolls, sweet goods, and cakes, and prepare items for refrigerated and freezer cases.
- Decorate cakes and bakery products with basic designs, ensuring quality and adherence to customer specifications.
- Take customer orders over the phone or in-person, ensuring a pleasant and positive experience, and create finished decorated products in a timely manner.
- Assist in filling, wrapping, pricing, stocking, and merchandising the bakery sales area while adhering to production logs and rotating products for freshness.
- Assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking down, and storing deliveries if properly trained.
- Maintain sanitation standards by following cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure work areas meet health and OSHA requirements.
- Cooperate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure smooth function of the department and store, continuously improving job performance.
- Ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for safety at all times.
- Assist in other departments as needed.
Qualifications and Experience of Bakery Service and Production Associate:
- Education and/or experience completed or working towards a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
