Job Summary of Capital Project Purchasing & Bidding Manager:

This role ensures cost-effective strategies, process automation, and vendor compliance across initiatives. The position supports internal teams and external partners by evaluating specifications, managing bids, issuing purchase orders, and maintaining procurement documentation for construction programs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Capital Project Purchasing & Bidding Manager:

• Evaluate specifications and pricing for construction equipment and materials using analytics tools.
• Standardize procurement and bidding processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Review project-based pricing for various initiatives such as new builds, remodels, and fuel-related programs.
• Generate reports on procurement metrics and vendor performance to support team communication.
• Qualify contractors and vendors based on project scope and compliance standards.
• Lead the bidding process and manage contractor negotiations.
• Issue purchase orders using internal systems and track all procurement activities.

Qualifications and Experience of Capital Project Purchasing & Bidding Manager:

• Education: Associate’s degree in business management required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience: 2–3 years in project management, procurement, or bidding required; 5+ years preferred.
• Certifications: PMO certification preferred but not required.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; strong communication, teamwork, and presentation skills; Smartsheet experience a plus.
